David Alexander Risk

David Alexander Risk is best known for his wildlife paintings. A self-taught artist, Risk is passionate about wildlife and the natural world. As the Artist in Residence at the Haliburton Forest, Risk finds much of his inspiration in the over 60 lakes and regional animals who inhabit these 80,000 acres. With a keen eye for detail, his observations translate into highly detailed acrylic, oil, and watercolour paintings as well as pencil, ink and charcoal drawings. A celebration of history and nature, Risk’s work is a testament to the Haliburton and Kawartha region. Risk has exhibited across Canada. His work is found in many public and private collections around the world including Buckingham Palace, UK.
