Karen Richardson

For over four decades, Karen Richardson has created finely crafted watercolours inspired by the rugged beauty of Canada’s northern wilderness. Raised near Algonquin Park, her lifelong connection to the Canadian Shield informs a realistic, contemplative approach that invites close viewing. Richardson’s work is deeply shaped by extensive travel, with up to half of each year spent exploring remote landscapes by motorcycle, RV, kayak, snowmobile, and on foot.

Richardson’s paintings are meticulously finished with protective varnish, reflecting a commitment to lasting archival quality. She is the award-winning author of Watercolour Toolbox, a painting instruction book, and an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and Women in Watercoluor. Her paintings are held in private and corporate collections in over 20 countries.
